WGNO has your voter guide as you head to the polls this election day

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Saturday, March 23 is election day in Louisiana.

As Your Local Election Headquarters, WGNO is here to provide you with the information needed to cast an informed vote and provide live election results as the votes are being counted.

Polls are set to open at 7 a.m. Voters will be able to cast their votes at their assigned polling locations until 8 p.m.

Anyone still in line by the time the polls close will still be able to vote.

While the presidential primary this year is a closed-party primary, meaning only Democrats and Republicans can vote, several parishes are holding local elections, in which all registered voters can participate.

The Orleans Parish Clerk of Court’s Office recently announced changes to polling locations across New Orleans for the following places:

When casting your vote on election day, make sure to have one of the following:

  • Driver’s license
  • Louisiana Special ID
  • LA Wallet digital driver’s license
  • United States military identification card that contains your name and picture
  • Some other generally recognized picture ID that contains your name and signature

Local Races

According to the Secretary of State website, 39 parishes will have closed-party races only, 16 parishes will have closed-party races and local races, five parishes will have closed-party races and local propositions and four parishes will have closed-party races, local races and local propositions.
