NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A New Orleans man has been sentenced after a video of him and a 3-year-old boy waving guns around was reported to child abuse investigators.
The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Louisiana reported 28-year-old Aaron Henderson pled guilty to being in possession a firearm as a felon on Feb. 21.
According to the office, a video showed Henderson armed with a Draco 7.62-millimeter rifle rapping the lyrics to a song when he told the child to pick up a handgun. The video was reported to the New Orleans Police Department Child Abuse Unit.
Court documents state that at the time the video was released, Henderson was a convicted felon, prohibited from possessing firearms.
He was sentenced to three years in prison along with three years of supervised release. He is also expected to pay a mandatory special assessment fee of $100.
