ST. JAMES PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Nearly 1,700 Entergy customers were without power in St. James Parish after a crash on Tuesday, Feb. 27.
According to the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies were alerted of the outage in the area of Highway 20 near Sugarmill Street around 5:08 a.m. Deputies said the power went out following a crash in the area.
Due to the outage, drivers in the area were advised to find an alternate route for their commute.
The outage also knocked out power to traffic lights in the area and drivers were instructed to treat Highway 3127 and Highway 20 as a four-way stop and Highway 3127 at Highway 3213 as a three-way stop to avoid further crashes.
Around 7:33 a.m., all lanes were reopened.
As of 9:30 a.m., 351 customers are waiting for their power to be restored.
