MARRERO, La. (WGNO) — The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly shooting that happened in Marrero on Friday, Feb. 16.
According to deputies, they were called around 4:20 a.m. to the 1100 block of Medical Center near West Jefferson Medical Center, where a man arrived suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg.
Deputies say the man later died from his injuries.
No further details are available. JPSO deputies are in the process of gathering evidence and information to determine a possible suspect and motive.
The Jefferson Parish Coroner’s Office will release the man’s name after an autopsy is done and the family is notified.
