Entergy New Orleans hosts ‘walkdown’ to identify service issues

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Entergy New Orleans hosted a “walkdown” event with employees and New Orleans City Councilwoman Leslie Harris on Wednesday, July 3.

Entergy leaders said the event is part of an effort to identify service issues in the area and ensure reliable service.

The event focused on District B, which includes Central City, the Broadmoor neighborhood, parts of Mid-City and Bayou St. John.

Entergy officials said the event is designed to promote accountability, raise awareness of service issues and find solutions.

“We did a pre-walk to identify certain areas in each council district where we may have some kind of low hanging fruit that we can fix before hurricane season gets here, trying to deal with the heat that we’re seeing. So, it literally is a walk about in every neighborhood of the city, identifying problems and trying to fix them today if we can. If we can’t we are going to make a note and take care of those items,” said Nyka Scott with Entergy New Orleans.

Entergy officials said similar events are scheduled throughout the summer and feedback from residents is welcome.
