NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The Brother Martin High School cheerleading team has been named a national champion for the third time.
The team took home first place in the Medium Coed Division at the UCA National High School Cheer competition.
The girls and boys were honored with an assembly at the school on Friday, March 22. The team’s head coach Jessica Fresina said it’s special to be on the other end getting the cheers.
“It feels nice because usually, we’re in this gym celebrating other people’s accomplishments and upcoming games. So, it was special to be here just for us,” said Fresina.
The latest win marks the third championship title for the cheerleading team.
