NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Ochsner Medical Center New Orleans received accreditation for outstanding nursing services for the fifth time.

OMC leaders said the hospital received the “prestigious” Magnet designation on behalf of the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), an accreditation service that determines healthcare organizations meet the standards of nursing excellence.

Representatives with the ANCC said that through the recognition program, hospitals go through a series of evaluations including extensive interviews and review of nursing services, clinical outcomes and patient care.

OMC New Orleans CEO Bradley Goodson said, “Our nurses embody our core values each day, demonstrating excellence and integrity while providing high quality, compassionate care.”
